History and Background
Bethel Elementary is located in the small, rural town of Midland in the southern tip of Cabarrus County. The first Bethel School in the Midland community was a log structure with a fireplace and wooden shutters. In 1926, Bethel School was built consisting of grades 1-12. In 1990, Bethel Elementary was established consisting of grades K-5. After many years of service, Bethel School was retired and a new Bethel was built in 2004.
